I pulled the car out of a Barn where she had stood for 8 years, last owner since 1984 had given up on her but couldn’t bear to sell it. Told me that the clutch had gone ( turned out to just be the slave cylinder)

I have replaced all fuel lines, all brakes, pipes discs etc. last year there was a small hole in fuel tank so I put in a new BMW tank . then all the consumables, plug leads, coolant sensor, throttle sensor, usual stuff that goes at 100k

Things that I know need doing,

I think cold start sensor is faulty , starts and runs but bit lumpy til warm. ( 30 secs ) Drivers seat bolster is flat and thread is loose, not ripped. Small patch of rust appearing on inner wings, you know the usual spot.

She has never been welded, nor needs it. The paintwork is ok. I would describe it at good for 30 years old but as mentioned before, I have always restored to concours standard then been afraid to drive them, so she has remained in her original coat.

The previous owner sent the car to a friend in Italy in 1989 where it stayed to 1999 ( he couldn’t sell her then either!) then had it back until it broke down in 2001.( I’m the 4th keeper, demo car, company car, previous from 1987 then me)

I have some history, it was misplaced by his friend in Italy, but I have enough to verify mileage with receipts, both from early 80’s in UK and from the time spent in Italy.

The underneath is just as it left the factory, I can’t tell you how long I spent on it afew hundred hours, without repainting or waxoiling. I am a stickler for originality. It even has the original exhaust, all stickers, have the radio and gear knob.

Mechanically nothing needs doing, pulls well, no smoke, no knocks etc. I think the tappets need a tweak. Brakes are superb, pulls up straight and true

Honestly, if someone want to strip her down and spend 2k on a re-spray they will have a concours car.

You can see the type of marks on paintwork from being stood in the barn, dry but damp. The paint is ‘thin’ from polishing over the years.

That’s about it I think. I will MOT her, and currently on SORN. I will allow a test drive but NOT when there’s wet salt on the road.

I have some spares too, quite a few rare bits.

I am looking for sensible offers, politely, I need to be persuaded to part with her. I’ve run out of things to tinker with without major strip down and I want to keep her as is.

The car is based in the United Kingdom

Offers invited over £7000.00
